August 1, 2013 – Austin, Texas – South By Southwest (SXSW) Conferences and Festivals are now open for business at sxsw.com. Conference registrations, hotel requests, Film Festival submissions, Interactive Awards and SXSW Accelerator applications and Music Festival showcase applications are now being accepted. SXSW Music, SXSW Film and SXSW Interactive take place Friday, March 7 through Sunday, March 16, 2014 in Austin, Texas.

SXSW Conferences and Festivals offer a plethora of daytime events for anyone interested in Music, Film or Interactive technologies. Registration for the SXSW Conferences and Festivals allows access to daytime events including keynote addresses, panels, one-on-one interviews, workshops, mentor sessions, meet ups, the SXSW Trade Show, Music Gear Expo, SXSW Gaming Expo, official SXSW parties, and CLE programs. Music and Platinum registrants also gain priority access into all SXSW nighttime showcases; Platinum, Gold and Film registrants gain priority access to Film screenings; Platinum, Gold and Interactive registrants gain access to Startup Village and the SXSW Accelerator competition. Convergent conference programming emphasizing the intersection of the Film and Interactive worlds is accessible to all Platinum, Gold, Film and Interactive registrants from Friday, March 7 – Tuesday, March 11. Additionally, SXSW offers a track of Platinum convergent panel topics on Tuesday, March 11 highlighting the increasing connection between original music, emerging technologies and independent film which is open to all conference badges. SXSW Film (March 7 – 15, 2014) is now accepting submissions from filmmakers for the opportunity to screen their films at this renowned destination for discovery. Submissions are only accepted online via the official SXSW website at sxsw.com/film and in the following categories: Narrative Feature, Documentary Feature, Narrative Short, Documentary Short, Animated Short,  Music Video, Title Sequence and Texas High School Short. Submission fees are at their lowest if films are received by the early deadline of Thursday, October 3, and are still discounted if they are received by the next deadline of Thursday, October 31.  The drop dead deadline is Thursday, November 14, 2013. SXSW is proud to be an official qualifying festival for the Academy Awards® Short Film competition. The Best Narrative Short and Best Animated Short winners become eligible for the Academy Awards.

SXSW Interactive (March 7 – 11, 2014) is accepting applications for SXSW Accelerator, our marquee startup pitch competition in Startup Village. Startups that launched within the last year are encouraged to submit via our online application. Over $587 million in funding has been awarded to past Accelerator finalists and winners. SXSW Music (March 11 – 16, 2014) continues to accept showcase applications for acts to perform at the world famous SXSW Music Festival. Apply now for the opportunity to perform for the 25,000 industry representatives including over 3,000 media representatives and the thousands of fans in attendance. SXSW hosts acts in every stage of their development including music legends as well as artists wanting to gain career changing exposure and publicity from the amazing mix of influential and international participants that attend every year.
